Go Back  Preschool Income eligibility ceilings Reject Governor's January budget proposal to lower income eligibility thresholds from 70 percent of the state median income (SMI) to 200 percent of the federal poverty level (about 62 percent of SMI) and eliminate associated slots, for savings of $24 million. If reductions are needed, eliminate preschool slots, as enrollment priority already is reserved for the lowest income applicants. 2-10-12
