a Contribution amounts through 2019-20 are based on Governor's Budget estimates. Thereafter, we assume payroll grows at CalSTRS' assumed rate (3.5 percent per year).
b Share of contributions from schools and community colleges is based on the split of payroll from CalSTRS' creditable compensation reports in 2018-19.
c Contribution amounts in 2018-19 are based on CalPERS reporting. Thereafter, we assume payroll grows at CalPERS' assumed rate (2.875 percent in 2019-20 and 2.75 percent per year thereafter). Excludes contributions for classified employees not covered by the CalPERS schools pool.
d Share of contributions from schools and community colleges each year is based on 2017-18 financial reports.
CalSTRS = California State Teachers’ Retirement System. CalPERS = California Public Employees’ Retirement System.
