While there is limited data on the number of transgender and nonbinary youth, the Williams Institute at the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law estimates that nearly 50,000 of the state ’s 2.6  million children aged 13 to 17  years (about 2  percent) identify as transgender.

Sep 21, 2023 - If voters reject SB  1137 on the November 2024 ballot but pass this measure, it could result in the following fiscal effects: Decreased State Revenues. We estimate that within a few years of implementation, the measure would reduce state revenues by tens of millions of dollars annually resulting from a decrease in oil extraction.
