May 20, 2010 - The Governor ’s May Revision proposes the following changes related to CMAC: Transfers Authority for Geographic Managed Care (GMC) Contract Negotiations to DHCS. The Governor proposes to transfer GMC health plan contract negotiation responsibilities to DHCS for total savings of $680,000.

May 18, 2010 - Closing such parks may result in the federal go vernment taking over the ownership and operation of the parks, as well as jeopardizing future federal funds. Finally, local economies could be negatively impacted by the closure of state parks in their local area and the resulting loss in visitor-related spending.

Proposed $200 million of General Fund savings due to federal health care reform's temporary early retiree reinsurance program.

May 14, 2010 - In a 2009 press statement, CalPERS officials described how these RDS payments provide "welcome relief for cities and counties that are struggling to maintain health care benefits for retirees and their beneficiaries. " Similarly, funds from the temporary federal  reinsurance program will be welcome relief for public employers enrolled in CalPERS.

Trailer vehicle license fee (VLF) backfill for International Registration Plan (IRP).

May 7, 2010 - The CVRA exempted commercial trailers from having to pay the VLF and thereby  reduced the  revenue going to cities, counties and realignment programs.   The  Legislature  made the decision to hold these entities harmless by  backfilling the losses with  money from the General Fund.

Elimination of the Office of Planning and Research (OPR).

May 5, 2010 - The six positions to be eliminated under our recommendation, as described in the OPR budget change proposal,  would be: two information technology staff proposed to be transferred to the Governor 's Office, two legislative staff proposed to be transferred either to HCD or SCSA, and two small business advocate staff proposed to be transferred to BTH.
