The 2021-22 Budget: Preliminary Comments on the Governor’s May Revision Proposal for Broadband Infrastructure

May 24, 2021 - Funding can be encumbered through December 31, 2024 and, according to recent guidance from the U.S. Department of the Treasury, can fund infrastructure projects to be completed by December 31, 2026. Other eligible uses of the funding related to internet access could include, among others, direct assistance to households with expenses related to internet access.

Feb 24, 2023 - The SSI/SSP caseload grew at a rate of less than 1  percent each year between 2011-12 and 2014-15. Beginning in 2015-16, however, SSI/SSP caseload began to slowly decline at an average rate of 1.5  percent each year.

The 2020-21 May Revision: CalWORKs Caseload-Driven Costs in the 2020-21 May Revision

Jun 2, 2020 - As a result of the public health and economic crisis brought on by coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), the administration projects CalWORKs caseload to average 724,000 cases per month in 2020 ‑21, or about 25  percent above the previous all-time high and more than double the amount projected in the January budget.
