Proposed vote on California becoming an independent country. [Ballot]

Jan 11, 2017 - As part of the process to be admitted to the United Na tions, Chapter II of the UN Charter provides that an applicant state ’s admission must be submitted to the Security Council. To be approved at this stage of the process, the application must be approved by 9 of the council ’s 15 members, provided that none of the council ’s permanent members (including the U.S.) vote against the application.
