Climate Change Impacts Across California - Crosscutting Issues

Apr 5, 2022 - For example, K ‑12 schools and child care providers will increasingly be impacted by disasters such as wildfires and floods interrupting their ability to offer in ‑person educational services. More frequent school closures will cause disruptions to instruction, school meals, and child care —leading to a greater risk of food insecurity, learning loss, and poorer academic outcomes for impacted students, as well as impairing their parents ’ ability to work.
