Jan 8, 2025 - By 2028, th e commission would be required to produce a public report on the ability of California to govern itself as an independent nation. To form the commission, the Secretary of State wou ld randomly select commissioners from a pool of eligible applicants with specific requirements for the sex and racial composition of the members.
