The 2025-26 Budget: Department of Financial Protection and Innovation

Apr 3, 2025 - Study Concluded That DFPI Needs $193.2  Million in Additional Funding for Certain Established and New Programs Through 2027-28. The independent accounting firm ’s report estimated that the department requires an additional $80.4  million through 2027-28 to support 8 of 13 established programs and subprograms, as well as an estimated $112.8  million through 2027-28 for its three new programs, for a total of $193.2  million.

The 2025-26 Budget: CDTFA’s Tobacco Programs

Feb 14, 2025 - CDTFA ’s estimated cost to implement AB  3218 and SB  1230 is $3.3  million in 2024-25, $5.5  million per year in 2025-26 and 2026-27, and $3.1  million in 2027-28 and ongoing. The new laws create penalties that could raise revenue to offset some of these costs.

The 2025-26 Budget: Overview of the Governor's Budget

Jan 13, 2025 - The  June 2024 budget package committed to a total of $28  billion in budget solutions for 2025 ‑26, which included, $12  billion in spending ‑related solutions and nearly $16  billion in all other solutions, including $5.5  billion in temporary revenue increases and a $7  billion withdrawal from the state ’s rainy day fund, the Budget Stabilization Account (BSA).

Mar 11, 2025 - The Governor ’s proposed budget includes $225  million for GO-SERVE in 2025-26 including $184  million from the General Fund, $28  million in federal funds, $9.4  million from the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund, and the remainder coming from reimbursements.
