Refocusing the Workers’ Compensation Subsequent Injury Program

Jul 10, 2025 - In 2021, the most recent year for which we have injury data, we estimate that 3,500 workers suffered workplace injuries of this severity. Coincidentally, roughly the same number of workers have filed SIBTF claims annually in recent years.

Jun 23, 2025 - We raised concerns in 2019 that CalHR withheld (and continues to withhold) a compensation study it completed in 2018 (see our June 2019 analysis ) and proceeded to not produce compensation studies in 2019, 2020, or 2021 despite new agreements being submitted to the Legislature in those years (see our June 2021 analysis ).

MOU Fiscal Analysis: Bargaining Unit 9 (Professional Engineers)

Jun 27, 2025 - Since October 2021, Unit 9 members have been eligible to receive a monthly telework stipend. Employees who are identified as being “remote centered ” are eligible to receive $50 per month. Employees who are identified as “office centered ” are eligible to receive $25 per month.
