The 2023-24 Budget: Broadband Infrastructure

Mar 20, 2023 - In June 2022, the Legislature passed (and the Governor signed) Chapter  48 of 2022 (S B  189 , Committee on Budget and Fiscal Review). In S B  189 , the Legislature stated a goal to appropriate an additional $550  million General Fund ($300  million in 2023 ‑24 and $250  million in 2024 ‑25) for increased costs to build, lease, and purchase the state ’s middle ‑mile network.
