Oct 16, 2025 - Chapter  104 of 2025 (SB  105, Wiener) requires the Department of Finance (DOF) —in consultation with the California State Transportation Agency —to examine loans or other financing options that could be used to provide short-term financial assistance to certain transit agencies: San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District, San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency, Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board, and Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District.

Feb 24, 2023 - For instance, Chapter  249 of 2016 (S B  32 ,  Pavley) updated the state ’s GHG reduction limit from 1990  levels by 2020 to 40  percent below 1990  levels by 2030. Chapter  337 of 2022 (A B  1279 , Muratsuchi) requires the state to achieve net ‑zero GHG emissions by 2045.

Climate Change Impacts Across California - Transportation

Apr 5, 2022 - Chapter   118 of 2016 (A B   2800 , Quirk) Established the Climate ‑Safe Infrastructure Working Group. The Legislature directed the California Natural Resources Agency to convene a working group consisting of engineers, scientists, and architects to examine how to incorporate climate change impact data into state infrastructure planning, design, construction, operations, and maintenance.
