Apr 5, 2022 - A  2018   report  by the State Coastal Conservancy and The Nature Conservancy found that 55 percent of California’s existing coastal habitats are highly vulnerable to five feet of sea‑level rise, including 60 percent of the state’s iconic beaches and 58 percent of its marshes.

May 2, 2023 - However, beginning in 2008, the voters established the independent California Citizens Redistricting Commission (CRC) and made the CRC res ponsible for drawing and approving new district boundaries every ten years with the passage of Proposition  11 in 2008 and Proposition  20 in 2010.
