May 13, 2022 - Chapter 120 of 2018 (AB 216, Gonzalez Fletcher) requires elections officials to include on the return envelope prepaid postage so that the voter does not pay for USPS to deliver the ballot to the elections official.

However, the Governor can extend the use of DREOA for emergency ‑related activities in 120 ‑day increments —even if the proclaimed state of emergency has ended.

Mar 18, 2025 - Since the Governor ’s proposal would provide $60  million for grants, compared to $120  million in prior iterations, the cap on individual awards would be $18  million, down from $36  million. There have been several grant awards made previously in excess of this amount.
