Dec 1, 2021 - From January 1, 2020 through October 20, 2021, roughly 130,000 commercial vehicles over 6,000 pounds were purchased out of state and registered in California. On an annualiz ed basis, these vehicles represent roughly 1  percent of the state ’s commercial vehicle registrations.

May 12, 2022 - For instance, providing tax refunds to registered vehicle owners would be an excludable activity and therefore help the state meet its SAL requirements. In contrast, reducing fuel excise taxes would not because those revenues are already excluded from the SAL.
