May 15, 2025 - File No. 25-0002, Amendment #1). Background Californians Have Different Kinds of Health Insurance. Most Californians (around 95  percent) have health insurance. Around half have insurance through their employer or by buying it themselves.

Ethnic studies course at the California State University. [Ballot]

May 15, 2025 - The ethnic studies course requirement became effective for students graduating in the 2024-25 academic year.  Proposal Creates New Undergraduate and Graduate Ethnic Studies Requirement at CSU. This measure requires CSU to add an upper-division ethnic studies course that is three units or higher to its graduation requirements for undergraduate students.

Proposition 2 [Ballot]

Nov 5, 2024 - Proposition  2 also allows school districts to receive extra renovation funding to build a new classroom or renovate an existing classroom that would be used for transitional kindergarten. (Beginning with the 2025-26 school year, all four-year olds will be eligible for a year of transitional kindergarten before entering kindergarten.)

Nov 5, 2024 - Some of these funding increases began in 2024, but most will begin in 2025 and 2026. Once they all begin in 2026, the increases likely would result in around $4  billion more for Medi-Cal annually. Around half of this amount will come from the health plan tax.

Nov 5, 2024 - These estimated savings totaled $95  million last year. By undoing parts of Proposition  47, Proposition  36 reduces the state savings from Proposition  47. This would reduce the amount the state must spend on mental health and drug treatment, school truancy and dropout prevention, and victim services.
