Feb 23, 2022 - (For example, there was substantial growth in health insurance premiums for employer ‑sponsored health plans of nearly 80   percent —or roughly 4.7  percent per year —between 2000 and 2017.) For comparison, inflation in the price of nonmedical services grew by roughly 4  percent per year in both Greater Los Angeles and the Bay Area over the same time period.
