The 2018-19 Budget: Meeting Workforce Demand for Certified Nursing Assistants in Skilled Nursing Facilities

Apr 27, 2018 - At $1,500 per enrollment slot, $2.5  million would fund about 1,700 new slots. Recommend Legislature Modify Proposed CCC Grant Program to Include Adult Schools. To broaden the reach of the Governor ’s proposed Proposition  98 CNA funding, we recommend the Legislature pass the funds through the AEBG program rather than the CCC Strong Workforce program.

MOU Fiscal Analysis: Bargaining Unit 8 (Firefighters)

Aug 19, 2025 - Effective the first day of the pay period following ratification, all Unit 8 members would receive a GSI of 2.5  percent. As a GSI, this pay increase will increase all steps of all salary ranges of each classification represented by Unit 8.

Aug 14, 2024 - Effective July 1, 2025, the proposed agreement would provide all state employees represented by Bargaining Unit 8 a 2.5  percent GSI. A GSI increases the base pay for all steps in each classification ’s pay range. 2025-26 SSA to Fire Fighter I and Fire Lookout Classifications.

Aug 25, 2022 - As we indicated in our June 25, 2021 analysis of the 2021 Unit 6 agreement with the state, the Unit 6 agreement provided Unit 6 a 2.5 percent GSI in 2022-23 and specified that CCPOA could choose to reopen that agreement should another bargaining unit receive a GSI in 2022that is greater than 2.5 percent.

Unit 8 (Firefighters) MOU Analysis

Aug 26, 2022 - The Unit 6 agreement specifies that the reopener is triggered if a bargaining unit receives a GSI greater than 2.5  percent “payable in 2022. ” The proposed Unit 8 agreement provides for a 2.5  percent GSI effective July 1, 2022 but then provides an additional 2  percent effective January 1, 2023.

We believe that employee compensation reductions are necessary due to the magnitude of the budget problem.
