The California State Bar: Considerations for a Fee Increase

Jun 26, 2019 - The State Bar is established by the Californ ia Constitution as a public corporation. The State Bar currently is governed by a 13 ‑member board of trustees (the board). As of June 2019, there are more than 270, 000 m embers of the State Bar —of which about 190,000 ( 70  p ercent) are active members able to practice law in California.
