Oct 7, 2025 - The measure also allows the state to pay for the new program using Proposition  98 funds that are currently reserved for public schools. As part of this change, it would modify the calculation of the Proposition  98 funding requirement to include the attendance of students participating in this program (in addition to students attending public schools).

Mar 3, 2020 - For unified school districts and community college districts, the limit would be raised from 2.5  percent to 4  percent of assessed property value. Second, school districts unable to raise $15  million under these new limits (up from the existing $5  million threshold) would be able to apply for additional state funding.

Sep 4, 2025 - Voters can choose to vote by filling out and putting their VBM ballot in the mail, dropping the VBM ballot off at a b allot drop off location, or casting a ballot in person at a voting location. Of the about 16  million people who voted in California in the November 2024 Presidential General Election, about 13  million voted using a VBM ballot and about 3  million voted in person at a voting location.

Nov 2, 2023 - In 2025-26, the reduction in state Proposition  98 funding would be approximately $17,000 for each student leaving public schools. (This estimate assumes some growth in the Proposition 98 minimum requirement over the next few years.
