People can register to vote through the Secretary of State ’s website, in person at their county elections official ’s office, through the mail, or through the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).

The course could either be an existing personal finance co urse that has been approved as meeting the A-G requirements or a locally developed course approved by the local governing board.

Managed care organization tax. [Ballot]

Oct 27, 2023 - The measure would increase the limit by the size of the MCO tax fo r four years starting in 2025-26 and could increase taxes subject to the limit beginning as early as 2026-27. After the temporary increase ends, the measure could somewhat increase the chances that the state would eventually collect revenues in excess of the limit.

Nov 8, 2016 - Since the Constitution became law in 1789, 33 amendments have been proposed and 27 amendments have been approved through this process. Step One: The Congress Acts. The process to change the Constitution begins with the Congress either (1) proposing changes or amendments to the Constitution or (2)  calling a constitutional convention to propose amendments after the state legislatures of at least 34 states have asked for such a convention.

Funding for California’s health care safety net. [Ballot]

Jan 3, 2018 - An estimated 27  hospitals in the state meet these criteria, 19 of which are licensed to a nonprofit corporation and 8 of which are licensed to a local health care district. The initiative would distribute 90  percent of funding to eligible hospitals licensed to nonprofit corporations and 10  percent of funding to eligible hospitals licensed to local health care districts.

Sep 5, 2017 - Since 2000, voters have approved about $27  billion in general obligation bonds for various environmental purposes, including water. The state repays these bonds, with interest, using the state ’s General Fund.
