The 2018-19 Budget: Charter School Facility Grant Program

Apr 23, 2018 - As part of an initial 2001 ‑02 budget agreement, the state provided $10  million for the program. The state continued to provide the program with about $10  million annually through 2006 ‑07 before augmenting funding to $18  million in 2007 ‑08.

An Evaluation of the School Facility Fee Affordable Housing Assistance Programs [Publication Details]

Jan 18, 2001 - Proposition 1A of 1998 authorized $9.2 billion to finance school facilities. Its companion legislation appropriated $160 million to reimburse school facility fees paid for new homes. In this report we recommend that the Legislature eliminate the $60 million in scheduled appropriations for these reimbursements in 2001-02 and 2002-03.

A Historical Review of Proposition 98

Jan 18, 2017 - At the time of the 2002 –03 May Revision, General Fund revenue estimates for 2001 –02 and 2002 –03 had fallen a total of $9.5  billion from January levels, yet the estimate of the 2002 –03 minimum guarantee increased by $1.2  billion.

The 2018-19 Budget: Analysis of the May Revision Education Budget Proposals

May 14, 2018 - As part of the 2001 ‑02 May Revision, the administration revised its state population estimates as far back as 1995 ‑96. These revisions increased the 1995 ‑ 96 t hrough 1997 ‑ 98 m inimum guarantees by nearly $ 600 m illion, even though schools and community colleges had long since closed their books on these years.
