Dec 29, 2025 - The 2021 maps were used in the 2022 and 2024 congressional elections. Proposition  50 (2025). In November 2025, California voters approved Proposition  50, replacing the 2021 maps with new legislatively drawn congressional district maps (Proposition  50 maps).

Oct 27, 2025 - In 2024-25 , UC operated with a budget of about $54  billion. Most of this money came from hospital operations, campus services (such as housing, dining, and parking), and other nonstate sources. The state contributed about $5  billion, and students paid about $4  billion in tuition.

May 15, 2025 - The ethnic studies course requirement became effective for students graduating in the 2024-25 academic year.  Proposal Creates New Undergraduate and Graduate Ethnic Studies Requirement at CSU. This measure requires CSU to add an upper-division ethnic studies course that is three units or higher to its graduation requirements for undergraduate students.

Nov 5, 2024 - Some of these funding increases began in 2024, but most will begin in 2025 and 2026. Once they all begin in 2026, the increases likely would result in around $4  billion more for Medi-Cal annually. Around half of this amount will come from the health plan tax.
