July 2017 Update: Los Angeles’ Bid for the Olympics and Paralympics

Jul 6, 2017 - More Public Awareness of Less Popular Olympic Events. The IOC report notes that some Olympic sports are less popular than others in both the United States and France. In the case of Los Angeles, the report notes that “for a number of less popular sports in the United States, in particular those using temporary venues, a carefully planned test event schedule would need to be established ” in advance of the Games.

Feb 27, 2026 - After these dispatch centers have been migrated, OES will focus on deploying Next Generation 911 services to the Los  Angeles area, to help prepare for the 2028  Olympic and Paralympic games.
