However, across counties, county ‑level CalWORKs participation rates (among families with children) varied from under 3  percent in certain counties (such as San Mateo, Placer, and Marin Counties) to over 20  percent in other counties (such as Del Norte and Imperial  Counties).

Retail Theft in California: Looking Back at a Decade of Change

Jun 12, 2025 - Specifically, they found that the increase in California’s larceny rate immediately following Proposition 47 was 9 percent larger than that of similar states. In a 2024 study , PPIC researchers analyzed changes in prison and jail incarceration rates as well as property crime clearance rates to see if they were associated with changes in crime, including measures of retail theft.
