Under its current scoring system, the Chancellor ’s Office allocates available bond funding across three project categories: life safety, modernization, and growth.

The 2026-27 Budget: California State University

Feb 24, 2026 - CalPERS contribution rates increased every year from 2011‑12 through 2019‑20, rising from 18 percent to 31 percent over that period (for Miscellaneous Tier 1 state employees). In 2020‑21 and 2021‑22, the state applied certain supplemental payments towards CalPERS costs, which lowered rates to 29 percent.

The 2026-27 Budget: California Community Colleges

Mar 5, 2026 - As Figure  5 shows, the state has consistently provided a COLA for seven specific categorical programs in almost every year since 2019 ‑20. (In 2020 ‑21, the state did not provide a COLA for any CCC programs because it anticipated a significant budget shortfall due to the pandemic.)

Mar 25, 2026 - In 2020, Learning Lab entered into an agreement with the Foundation for California Community Colleges (the Foundation) for certain administrative services and staffing support. Currently, Learning Lab has five program staff employed by the Foundation.

Feb 26, 2026 - In addition, UC intends to use $20  million from its investment earnings for its core operating costs in 2026 ‑27. UC also anticipates generating $15  million in freed ‑up funds from procurement savings and other operational efficiencies that it will use for its core operations in 2026 ‑27.
