The Rise of Remote Work: Effects on California's Labor Market

May 6, 2026 - Figure  6 tracks work from home in heavily remote job groups over time. Even before the pandemic, workers in these job groups were more likely to work from home than  other workers. Nevertheless, more than 90  percent of these workers worked in person.
