Mar 6, 2025 - This was then offset by roughly $30  million in increased HCBS Funds. This leaves, as of December 2024, a funding gap of at least $60  million. The Joint Legislative Budget Committee has requested the administration to provide a final reconciliation of the total funding gap, as well as, a plan to fully address program overages by April 1, 2025, or 30 days after the reconciliation is complete —whichever comes first.

Feb 19, 2025 - As mentioned above, the 2024-25 Budget Act included a one-time reduction of $37  million in 2024-25 to ESE funding (as well as a one-time $30  million reduction to ESE funding in 2023-24). In 2025-26, ESE funding is restored to $134  million (equivalent to annual ESE funding levels prior to the 2023-24 and 2024-25 reductions).
