The 2021-22 Budget: Overview of the Governor's Budget

Jan 10, 2021 - For 2021 ‑22, the guarantee is up an additional $3  billion (3.6  percent) relative to the revised 2020 ‑21 level. In addition, a law enacted last June requires the state to make a $2.3  billion supplemental payment on top of the guarantee in 2021 ‑22.

For 2021, firms again are allowed to claim $1,000 multiplied by the increase in the firm ’s average full-time employee count between the period from April to June of 2020 (as before) and the lesser of either (1)  the period from July 2020 to June of 2021 or (2)  the period from April to June of 2021.

Dec 2, 2025 - As of June 2025, California had 2,118 certified DVBEs. By comparison, the average number of certified DVBEs between the 2017 ‑18 and 2023 ‑24 fiscal years was 1, 774 —ranging from a low of 1,623 in 2018 ‑19 to a peak of 2,070 in 2020 ‑21.

The 2022-23 Budget: California Department of Food and Agriculture

Feb 1, 2022 - The 2021 ‑22 budget package committed $30  million in both 2021 ‑22 and 2022 ‑23 in non ‑Proposition  98 General Fund resources to fund additional rounds of grants. The 2026-2027 Budget: California Cannabis Control Appeals Panel Permanent Funding Request

Feb 11, 2026 - Four cases reached the panel in subsequent years —2021 to 2024 —but all were withdrawn or dismissed because the appellants had provisional licenses. CCAP asserts that the dearth of cases during this period was attributable to the fact that large numbers of cannabis licensees held provisional licenses during these years, which meant they could not appeal to the CCAP.

The 2025-26 Budget: Department of Financial Protection and Innovation

Apr 3, 2025 - Between 2021 and 2023, the Legislature also added the following three new programs to DFPI ’s suite of responsibilities: California Consumer Financial Protection Program. Chapter  157 of 2020 (AB  1864, Lim ón) —known as the California Consumer Financial Protection Law —broadened DFPI ’s authority in various ways beginning January 1, 2021.
