Nov 14, 2025 - The budget modifies this requirement so that when families already receiving child care services add a child to the family size and request services for the child, eligibility is not recertified until the new chil d has received at least 12 months of services.

Apr 16, 2024 - The second payment brought 2023 ‑24 provider rates to the 87 th percentile of the RMR. (Prior to CDE action, rates for the 2023 ‑24 fiscal year were set at the 75 th percentile of the RMR.) To fund these actions, CDE used $167  million temporary COVID-19 relief funds that were set to expire and $265  million Proposition  98 from the set-aside for collective bargaining.

Feb 11, 2021 - Given the magnitude of the proposed backfill for CDE, it does appear that D SS would likely have more funding and positions under the Governor ’s proposal than required to address its new workload. Since there is no new workload across both departments, a cost neutral shift would be reasonable.
