Achieving the Goals of the SB 678 County Probation Grant Program

Oct 10, 2023 - In an attempt to adjust for the effects of the 2011 public safety realignment, legislation was enacted to modify the original S B  678 formula for 2013 ‑14 and 2014 ‑15 to (1)  reflect that fewer people on felony probation could now be sent to prison and (2)  reward counties when they successfully send fewer people on felony probation to prison and jail (rather than just to prison as in the original formula).
