A Review of Child Care and Preschool Program Flexibilities in Certain Counties

May 13, 2021 - If a Provider Does Not Earn Its Full Contract, Funds Are Returned to the State. In some cases, a provider may serve less children than it intended to serve and not fully earn its contract. These unused funds result in one-time savings for the state.

Feb 22, 2022 - Children are eligible for State Preschool if their family earns less than 85  percent of the state median income. Participating children either receive a part ‑day or full ‑day option. Providers are funded based on a child ’s attendance in the program, with higher levels of funding —known as an “adjustment factor ” —for certain children, such as dual language learners and children with disabilities.
