Jan 4, 2024 - Ban Using Potable Water to Irrigate Nonfunctional Turf on CII Landscapes. Proposed regulations would ban irrigation of nonfunctional turf with potable water beginning on July 1, 2025. SWRCB ’s regulations were proposed before approval of Chapter  849 of 2023 ( AB 1572, Friedman ), which has a similar prohibition that is phased in beginning in 2027.

The 2026-27 Budget: Governor’s Office of Land Use and Climate Innovation Proposals

As shown, the funding request includes $10.5  million ongoing to support IT, administrative, legislative, and land policy staff and activities. For implementing various statutory responsibilities, the Governor proposes $741,000 in 2026-27, $1.7  million in 2027-28, $1.5  million from 2028-29 through 2031-32, and $522,000 ongoing thereafter.
