Climate Change Impacts Across California - Crosscutting Issues

Apr 5, 2022 - With the exception of 2019, the years from 2014 through 2020 experienced the six highest average annual temperatures ever recorded in the state. Moreover, average summer temperatures in California were the hottest on record in 2021, breaking the previous June ‑through ‑August record set in 2017.

Apr 5, 2022 - The state budget has provided $227  million from the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund for LIWP since 2014, and the 2021 ‑22 budget package committed an additional $75  million total from the General Fund through 2024 (with $25  million in 2021 ‑22 dedicated exclusively to the farmworker housing component).

Feb 14, 2022 - Furthermore, most of the continuous appropriations were established as part of the 2014 ‑15 budget, and legislative priorities may have changed over the last several years. If the Legislature were to determine that the AHSC Program were a much higher priority than other programs receiving GGRF revenue, the continuous appropriations could be reset accordingly.
