Feb 24, 2023 - Governor’s Proposal Proposes Reauthorization of Vehicle Fees Set to Expire. The Governor proposes to extend authorization for the sunsetting A B  8 fees from January 1, 2024 through 2035. Because these fees are constitutionally a tax, the extension would need to be approved by a two ‑thirds vote of the Legislature.
