Chapter  195, Statutes of 1996 (AB 3369, Bordonaro), restricts Youth Authority commitments for future M cases to only those CDC inmates who are under the age of 18 at the ti me of sentencing. This law requires that M cases be transferred to the CDC at age 18, unless their earliest possible release date comes before they reach age 21.
