Aug 23, 2024 - As we discussed in the 2007-08 Budget: Perspectives and Issues , the 2001 MOU for Unit 6 briefly tied Unit 6 salaries to Unit 5 salaries between 2001 and 2006—this parity can be seen in the figure as Unit 6 average base pay growth very closely followed growth in Unit 5 average base pay during that period.

May 30, 2018 - Our understanding is that the 5  percent GSIs for these three groups of employees were intended to address recruitment, retention, or compensation parity issues. Recent salary surveys conducted by CalHR have indicated that many of these employees ’ pay and total compensation lag behind people who possess similar training and qualifications and are in other bargaining units or employed by other governmental and private sector employers.
