The 2017-18 Budget: Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV)

Feb 22, 2017 - Assembly Bill 60 requires that DMV accept driver license applications from California residents who are unable to submit satisfactory proof of legal presence in the US (such as a social security number), provided they meet all other application requirements and provide proof of identify and residency.

Feb 17, 2017 - Figure 6 compares the current funding levels for major highway maintenance projects to the ongoing maintenance needs (specifically, to meet certain maintenance schedules provided to us by Caltrans). As shown in the figure, the total annual amount of funding needed to meet ongoing major maintenance needs is about $1.6 billion, or about $1.2 billion more than the current funding level for major maintenance projects.
