Mar 3, 2026 - Children ’s Crisis Continuum Pilot $60 million one ‑time in 2021 ‑22, most of which is available through June 30, 2026. Of the total amount, $4 million is available through June 30, 2027 to allow time to prepare a final report for the Legislature by April 1, 2027.

The 2026-27 Budget: Streamlining California’s Affordable Housing Funding System

Mar 6, 2026 - The Governor ’s proposal to provide 70   percent of total AHSC funds for affordable housing (and 30   percent for the transportation aspect) is based on the historical split. This split, in turn, is based on SGC ’s practice of awarding up to $35   million per project (70   percent) for affordable housing and up to $15   million (30   percent) for transportation.

The 2026-27 Budget: Supplemental Security Income/State Supplementary Payment (SSI/SSP) Program

Mar 3, 2026 - The Governor ’s budget estimates that the federal COLA for the SSI portion of the grant will be 3.1  percent in 2026-27, increasing maximum SSI grants by $30 for individuals and $46 for couples on January 1, 2027 (the actual federal SSI COLA will not be known until fall 2026).

Feb 18, 2026 - As shown in Figure  3, the amount of TANF used to support CalWORKs has changed from year to year. During the COVID-19 pandemic the state significantly overestimated CalWORKs caseload and spending, largely due to unprecedented federal and state policy responses that led to historically unusual enrollment trends.

Implementing California’s Child Welfare Prevention Services Program

Jan 28, 2026 - Tier 3 focuses on implementing EBPs. Trainings are targeted toward providers as well as child welfare staff. Initial trainings under Tier 3 have been provided, and DSS released guidance (via All‑County Letter 25‑73 ) in October 2025 with more detail about the specific training sessions and required participants for Tier 1.
