Sep 23, 2021 - The budget package increases the amount of film tax credits the state can annually allocate by $90   million —from $330  million to $420   million —for fiscal years 2021 ‑22 and 2022 ‑23. The California Film Commission competitively awards tax credits of up to 25  percent of certain production expenses, such as crew wages and post-production costs, to motion picture production companies.
