Oct 16, 2025 - The office indicates that the primary goal of this initiative is to “strengthen and coordinate the administration ’s efforts to help communities identify pathways to social connectedness and engagement. ” According to the administration, the funding will be used primarily for developing and implementing a branding public awareness campaign for existing state programs, including programs operated by California Volunteers.

Feb 25, 2025 - The administration indicates that it selected electrical and barbering/manicurist programs based on employment trend data. Current CTE programs at the prison are plumbing, painting, and machine shop and can serve a total of 81 students.

Assessing Community College Programs at State Prisons

Jul 1, 2024 - In fall 2019 (the year just before the pandemic), the gap in success rates between in ‑person and correspondence courses was 15  percentage points. The gap shrunk temporarily during the pandemic as success rates for in ‑person courses declined as a result of disruptions to in ‑person  programming.
