Jul 1, 2024 - Proposition   98 Is Colleges ’ Main Source of Funding. Proposition  98 (1988) sets aside a minimum amount of funding for schools and community colleges based upon a set of constitutional formulas. Proposition  98 funding comes from the state General Fund and certain local property tax revenues.

Feb 25, 2025 - In May 2023, Governor Newsom convened an advisory council to recommend changes at SQRC in line with the California Model framework as a pilot to potentially be scaled up. In January 2024, the advisory council released a report containing 44 recommendations.
