The 2025-26 California Spending Plan: Other Provisions

Oct 16, 2025 - State Employee Compensation Legislature Ratified New Agreements With All 21 Bargaining Units. Chapter 5 of 2025 (AB 102, Gabriel) amended the budget to include Control Section 3.90, which established an expectation that the administration would meet and confer in good faith with all 21 of the state’s bargaining units before July 1, 2025 to achieve budgetary savings.

Feb 28, 2023 - Currently, interest rates for bonds are projected to be about 6  percent to 7  percent in fall 2023. This is significantly higher than recent years, when rates have been less than 5  percent. On the other hand, using cash also means less funding is available to support near-term budget priorities.

The 2024-25 Spending Plan: Judiciary and Criminal Justice

Sep 10, 2024 - The General Fund amount is a net decrease of $198  million (6  percent) from the revised 2023-24 amount. This net decrease is largely due to a one-time reduction in General Fund support for the branch offset by increased support from the Trial Court Trust Fund (TCTF) and an ongoing reduction to baseline trial court operations to help address the state ’s budget problem.
