The 2026-27 Budget: Computer Science Supplementary Authorization

Feb 19, 2026 - Additionally, suspension rates for Cohort 1 grantees declined by 15  percent more (0.52  percentage points) than similar schools. The improvement in student outcomes was reported across student subgroups, however, the improvements were shown to be most significant for Black students, English learners, and socioeconomically disadvantaged students.

The 2026-27 Budget: Proposition 98 Guarantee and K-12 Spending Plan

Feb 4, 2026 - Trailer legislation scheduled the payment for 2014 ‑15 (later changed to 2015 ‑16). In October 2010, the state recognized a $1.8  billion increase to its previous estimate of the 2009 ‑10 guarantee. It made an initial payment of $300  million but did not schedule any future payments.

Feb 26, 2025 - Districts would be required to administer the screener within 60 days of a student beginning to participate in TK, but no later than December 15. Districts would also be required to share with CDE the number of mul tilingual learners identified using the screener.

Feb 18, 2025 - As an example, for a district with 15 school sites, auditors may review the TK program at four schools to determine compliance f or the entire district. Current Penalty Structure Has Trade ‑Offs. Compared with other elementary grades, the state provides higher levels of funding for TK, as well as stricter requirements with relatively stringent penalties for noncompliance.
