The 2022-23 Budget: Fuel Tax Rates

Feb 11, 2022 - The amount of the revenue loss depends on the amount of the rate reduction and on the number of gallons of fuel sold in 2022 ‑23. Like all forecasts, fuel consumption forecasts are subject to uncertainty, but the administration ’s forecast —and the resulting revenue loss estimate of $523   million —is reasonable.

Feb 1, 2021 - The actual cost of borrowing depends on the market conditions when the bonds are sold. Figure  3 shows that interest rates for ten ‑year U.S. treasury bonds, which are closely related to changes in state borrowing costs, currently are at historic lows.
