Unit 8 rank-and-file, managerial, and supervisorial employees account for less than 4  percent of the total FTE in the state workforce and about 4  percent of the state ’s General Fund payroll expenditures.

Aug 23, 2024 - The administration ’s fiscal estimates indicate that nearly 1,400 rank-and-file and nearly 500 excluded employees have more than 18 years of service and currently receive a seniority payment. The administration estimates that the higher tiers for employees with 27 or more years of service would apply to 180 rank-and-file employees and 80 excluded employees, increasing annual state costs by about $2.2  million.

The 2021-22 Budget: Interest Payment on Federal Unemployment Insurance Loan

Feb 10, 2021 - The 2021-22 Governor’s Budget proposes $555 million General Fund to make the first interest payment on federal loans the state received to pay unemployment insurance (UI) benefits after the UI fund became insolvent during the pandemic. Our office’s estimate of the upcoming interest payment is much lower—about $260 million.
