The 2020-21 Spending Plan: Higher Education

UC Merced at 20: Campus Developments and Key State-Level Takeaways

Nov 7, 2024 - In 2022 ‑23, 8.2  percent of UC Merced ’s expenditures were for interest payments on its bonds for capital projects, compared to 3  percent for other UC campuses without a medical center. UC Merced anticipates that it will continue spending a relatively high share of its annual budget on interest payments for at least a few more decades as much of its debt for capital projects is being financed over about 30 years.
