The 2026-27 Budget: Supplemental Security Income/State Supplementary Payment (SSI/SSP) Program

Mar 3, 2026 - The Governor ’s budget estimates that the federal COLA for the SSI portion of the grant will be 3.1  percent in 2026-27, increasing maximum SSI grants by $30 for individuals and $46 for couples on January 1, 2027 (the actual federal SSI COLA will not be known until fall 2026).

The 2025-26 spending plan restores ESE funding to $134  million (equivalent to annual ESE funding levels prior to the 2023-24 and 2024-25 reductions).

The 2023-24 spending plan changes the source for the 2023-24 expenditures, providing funds from the state ’s Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF) rather than the General Fund.
