A Historical Review of Proposition 98

Jan 18, 2017 - Chapter  216 of 2004 (SB 1108, Committee on Budget and Fiscal Review) appropriated $150  million annually beginning in 2006 –07 for the purpose of paying off this outstanding obligation. (The state later superseded this payment schedule with one –time payments of $300  million in 2006 –07 and $1.1  billion in 2008 –09 .)

Feb 15, 2022 - A 2010 study from the RAND Corporation examined the impact of state ‑funded literacy coaches placed in Florida middle schools on student reading test scores between 2002 and 2006. The study found positive impacts for two student cohorts analyzed, whereas the other two cohorts showed essentially no impact on student reading.

May 3, 2018 - The state funded the SFP with a series of four voter-approved general obligation bonds between 1998 and 2006 that together provided $35  billion. State general obligation bonds require voter approval and are repaid over time through debt service payments from the state ’s non-Proposition  98 General Fund.
