Jan 13, 2020 - The Governor ’s budget proposes expanding comprehensive Medi ‑Cal coverage to income ‑eligible seniors aged 65 and older, regardless of immigration status, beginning no sooner than January 1, 2021. The budget assumes 27,000 seniors will gain comprehensive coverage at a half ‑year cost of $ 64  m illion General Fund in 2020 ‑21 and an annual ongoing cost of $ 320  m illion General Fund at full implementation.
